If you're looking for a career in journalism, this program is a great option for high school students in any grade. Students participate in five-day workshops on all things journalism, learnings how to examine the media and develope the skills necessary for college courses. Although credit is not offered, the program is an effective way to introduce yourself to college-level academics. The workshops give students hands-on experience and offer instruction on how to do school projects and write for school publications. Cost: Workshops are $425 for a five-day session. That includes tuition, housing and a $50 meal card, as well as most supplies. If students want to commute, it's $285 (no meal card). They also offer a three-day mini-workshop for Sportscasting, which costs $285 per session. 2020

This program is similar to the SFAAP. Students are chosen from a wide variety of backgrounds and invited to attend a week-long academy held in Quantico, Virginia. They will hear from notable leaders from around the country such as entrepreneurs, Holocaust survivors, and Marine Corps Leaders. Physical fitness will also be emphasized through physical training and scenario based reaction courses. The goal of this program is to return students back to their communities more confident, selfless, and better equipped to improve the lives of those around them.
a. Have completed their sophomore year in high school and be 16-18 years of age by the program start date (July 2020)
Strong academics, minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
